Cold Room / Cold Storage Doors – Buyer FAQ

What types of cold storage doors does LESHO offer?

LESHO lists cold storage doors on leshochina.com, including electric and manual sliding (translation) cold storage doors, freezer high-speed doors, and insulated sectional doors for cold facilities. Swing (hinged) and pivot cold storage doors are also in the catalog, alongside sliding and freezer high-speed doors. Specifications are confirmed per project.

Sliding or hinged cold room door?

Sliding doors suit larger openings and forklift traffic and save floor space; they can be manual or electric. Hinged (swing) doors suit smaller walk-in cold rooms and pedestrian access. For very high traffic, a freezer high-speed door is often added in front of or instead of a sliding door.

What insulation do cold room doors use?

Cold room door leaves are typically filled with high-density polyurethane (PU) foam, with thickness chosen for the temperature: often around 100 mm for chillers and 120–150 mm for freezers. Skins are usually color steel, stainless steel or FRP. LESHO sliding cold storage leaves use 100, 120 or 150 mm PU foam at 45 kg/m³ (B1), with PPGI (color steel) or stainless steel skins.

How do freezer doors prevent ice and sticking?

Freezer doors use heating cables in the frame and seals, double or triple seals, and sometimes heated thresholds to stop gaskets freezing to the frame. A pressure relief valve in the cold room also prevents vacuum that makes doors hard to open. LESHO sliding freezer doors use 220 V anti-freeze heating in the frame and leaf, plus EPDM seals; an inner escape ring is standard, and an observation window is optional.

What temperature range can the doors handle?

Cold storage doors are generally specified for chilled (around 0 to +10 °C) or frozen (down to about −25 to −40 °C) rooms, depending on insulation and heating. LESHO catalog ratings: sliding doors for temperature difference over 50 °C and RH over 80%; pivot cold storage door down to −35 °C; swing door listing shows about −5 to 5 °C (confirm with engineering for your room).

What safety features should a cold room door have?

A cold room door should have an inside safety release so anyone trapped can open it from inside, an emergency lighting/alarm option, and, for powered doors, obstacle detection and manual override. Food facilities often require hygienic, easy-clean surfaces such as stainless steel.

Can cold room doors be motorized and automated?

Yes. Sliding cold room doors can be fitted with an electric operator, triggered by pull switch, radar, remote or interlock with dock equipment. Automation reduces open time and cold loss. LESHO electric sliding cold storage doors use a 3-phase 380 V / 2 kW operator at about 0.2–0.5 m/s, with manual or automatic operation; optional photo/airbag anti-pinch.

What do I need to send for a cold room door quote?

Send opening width and height, room temperature, wall panel thickness, door type (sliding, hinged, high-speed), manual or electric, skin material, and number of doors. Contact LESHO at info@leshochina.com or +86-15851675955. Normal lead time 15–20 days; standard warranty 1 year. Order quantity is confirmed per project.
